I came out of lockdown having only done Zoom hypnotherapy sessions with clients for the past months.
Loving them. Excited by them. Inspired by them.
And I am still loving them. I’m really fired up by the amazing impact they have for my clients – truly life changing.
I came out of lockdown thinking that it was time to stop offering massage as one of my services.
I’ve been doing it for over 26 years. My hands were starting to ache, as was my back. Even though there’s always something new to learn and it’s evolving all the time, I thought I’d had enough. Done enough.
With the extra training I’ve done on preventing disease transmission in a massage clinic, all the extra washing and cleaning I’m now doing (I thought I had loads before!), I decided it was time to close that chapter of my business.
What I hadn’t realised was how much people have been missing touch!
People have been in lockdown, isolated from friends, loved ones, acquaintances, anyone!
They haven’t been getting their “hello” and “goodbye” hugs, their “it’s great to see you” hugs, “I’m sorry you’re having a rough time” hugs, “I’m here for you” hugs.
They haven’t been getting a companionable arm around their shoulders, a pat on the arm, a light touch on their back.
People have been starved of touch.
Touch is a fundamental human need.
Skin-to-skin contact is essential for mental, emotional and physical health. It helps to reduce stress, lowers heart rate and blood pressure, alleviates loneliness, improves sleep, and many other things.
I realised why I’ve been getting so many bookings for massage!
Guess what? It’s still on my services page.
